Mall

The Dar Village shopping mall project, located along Rose Garden Road in Dar es Salaam, experienced a long period of inactivity before being resumed last year. On completion this mall, will be one of the largest shopping centres in the city. Left unattended for more than a decade, the incomplete and unprotected structures deteriorated. The deterioration of the building was caused by factors like carbon dioxide, water, chlorides, sulphates, thermal stresses, design flaws, and construction errors. This led to issues such as efflorescence, liquid percolations, reinforcement rod corrosion, cracks, and detachments. The restoration and renovation work began with repairing and protecting the structural elements. Satva’s technical team provided slopes and water protection of the gutter and roof slab.A two-component, flexible cementitious mortar system was applied for a durable and effective waterproofing solution for the slabs.
